I had heard for years how great Fish Market was. You could buy fresh fish there and take it home or dine in. I took my family a few weeks back and I was very disappointed. The catfish, which EVERYONE in AL knows how to cook was AWFUL. I won't be back.

Our standard seafood place. Food is excellent, very casual atmosphere, freshest and best variety of fish in town. Where we go for everything from out of town guests, birthdays, or just a good lunch.

Visited today for the first time at lunch. got there at 1130..ouch....long line but went quickly. It was well worth the wait and the food was superb! I am not sure who the idiot was that thought the fish was second rate.........they were wrong. This place was PACKED PACKED! Now if the food was second rate would always be packed? NOT. <br> Great place to go for reasonable prices.

IF SEAFOOD IS WHAT YOU WANT THEN THIS IS THE PLACE TO GET IT;FRIED, STEWED OR BAR-B-QUED (JUST KIDDING). BUT THEY DO HAVE GREAT SEAFOOD AT A RESONABLE PRICE, AND PREPARED IN VARIOUS WAYS. GONE DOWN THERE AND TELL 'EM ANNIE B. SENT YOU. (LOL)<;)

The only virtue of the Fish Market is low prices. The atmosphere is what the name implies, a retail fish market where the smell of less than fresh fish permiates the air and reminds you what you are about to eat is well past it's prime. In fact, a quick look at the display case will reveal to the discerning eye that the fish are seconds or worse. If you can afford a few dollars more, much better seafood is available almost anywhere else.

Great seafood establishment. One sentence says it all when talking about this restaurant. You have a wide variety of choices on the menu.

The shrimp alfredo is to-die-for and the crab legs are cooked to perfection. The prices are just a little high but, you really get the best food for that money.

I have never seen so many differnt kinds of fish in one place. If you can think of it they probably have it and they will cook it any way you want it. The dining area is just a big open room but it's clean. You go through a line and place your order. Then they call your number when your food is ready and you pick it up at a window.

Great seafood for the price. Both locations are great the one downtown is a little better. The atmosphere is average but the food is the best in Birmingham.

The Fish Market is a very popular and very nice restaurant. It is a seafood restaurant with a Greek twist. The seafood is generally very fresh, but the fried dishes are the best. They do take-out, and you can request special orders, e.g. grilled, shredded, well-done Mahi-mahi. The service is fast and efficient, and has good atmosphere for a casual yet elegant meal.

I don't like this place as well as most of my friends. Food is usually good, but not great. I guess the place just doesn't feel like a seafood place.

This place is the ultimate in value. The lemon pepper amberjack, actually everything, is excellent. The prices are unbelieveable. The fish is fresh every day. It is self serve cafeteria style. Kind of run down, but it's great for hungry lunchers.
