This place used to be very good, but we have been disappointed with the
quality of the food for a while now. The staff was never very hospitable,
but since we do take out, we didn't pay much attention to it since
the food had been good. We are trying other places now.

I ordered pizza for delivery. Being use to good customer service,
(I'm not from the SF Bay area) I was disappointed with whoever
answered the phone. He could barely get my order before "click"
dialtone.

BUT

The pizza was GREAT! And the delivery was in the time frame that
they stated, so forget about phone etiquette. Now they know what's
really important. Yumm

If you get your pizza delivered from the Leaning Tower, you're
missing half the experience! My favorite mural in Oakland is
the one of Italy that's on the side of the restaurant--it's
definitely worth a good 5 minutes' staring. There's
another great mural of the lake on the inside, and since the dining
area is rarely crowded, it's a great spot to chill and half-watch
whatever sports game is on the smallish TV.

Other great reasons to stop by: The owner and the rest of the staff
are unpretentious, good people. They have the best beer coasters.
Very close to the Lake for post-pizza walks. : )

On the pizza scale...average. Not the best that I have had but
not the worst either. Delivery time was within limits.

Leaning Tower is a long-established, eat-in/carry-out/delivery
pizza parlor by the lake. Everything for the pizza is homemade,
and the sauce can be a bit tart. However, it is worth the spendy
price if you order extra garlic or the pesto - YUM. They have recently
begun offering slices, I don't know if this replaced their lunchtime
"mini" pizza, but if they still have those, for four bucks you
can get a pie with anything you want on it.
If you have a pizza delivered, their time is reasonable, and don't
forget to tip the driver!
