Outstanding food and ambiance. The service is a bit unpredictable
and reservations are necessary 7 days a week. Prices are a bit high too,
but this is easily the best food in Oakland. A good romantic restaurant,
full bar, live guitar music on the weekend.

This is a great place!! It has a super atmosphere and great food!
It is a true Italian resturante!! We enjoyed it! The olny negetive
was the service was poor! Our waiter had no idea how or when to fil
up an empty glass! But he was tipped accordingly! If it had not
been for him I would have rated this place a 5 star!

My wife and I tried Italian Colors Ristorante after finding they
were close to home. It was busy Friday night so reservations are
recommended, we waited about 10-15 minutes for our table.
Our waiter was knowledgable and friendly and recommended a nice
Chianti for our meal and recited that evenings specials for us.
We chose one of the specials and a pizza; My wife had the
Filet Mignon w/ Goats cheese glasure, vegetables and garlic
mashed potatoes, I chose the steak julienne/ pesto pizza.
Both were fantastic and we had a lovely meal in a friendly open
atmosphere. For dessert we chose the "gooey" chocolate and after
a brief 20 minute wait we were in chocolate heaven! To cap things
off we had espresso and relaxed. It was a great evening and we
can both recommend Italian Colors Ristorante highly. Also good
for large groups, part of the restaurant can be sealed off
from view by 4 large Roman Shades. Enjoy a visit, K. & M.

What a lovely find in the Montclair District!
Had the green lasgne and it was wonderful.
Fresh pasta and a delicate balance of other ingrediants.
The baby green salad with asian pears and glazed pecans really set the
course for a wonderful dining experience.
My husband enjoyed the saffron fish and pasta entree.
Excellent service and a welcome treat!

Italian Colors is a great restauarant!! The food is
excellent and the service is great. They always have a
"special of the evening menu" which is always very tasty.
They either have a meat dish, lamb, steak, etc. a fresh
fish dish and a pasta dish on their specials. All food
is presented nicely, great flavor and very adequate portions.
The homemade desserts are always yummy, and if you come late in the
evening, order it first because they may run
out. Very friendly staff, good for kids...only if they
can sit still for any period of time.
Good beer on draft, great bartender. Owners are
always there and very involved and pleasant.

This resturant is one of our favorites too. The menu has a
full range of selections and many specials that change
each day. The service is excellent and professional. For
the price, food and service this is the best deal in town.
In San Francisco you would pay twice the price for this
quality of food.
The pizzas are great too!

We went with a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their entrees. The hot
calamari appetizer made one of the folks queasy, but most of us really
liked it. It was different.
The entree portion sizes were large; the salad portion sizes; salads
are ala carte; were way too small for the price. Desserts were yummy.
Service was as good as everyone else has said.
Friendly, but not obtrusive. If you can get a table on the patio,
that's best. The inside, although nicely decorated, is a bit
claustrophobic! Parking is a real bummer; the lot is shared
several businesses, and there are no more than 30 spots. We drove up
the drive beside the restaurant and parked where all of the insurance
business parking was marked. But, hey!, it was
Saturday night and those folks weren't at work! We didn't get towed.....

This restaurant is generally good, but it is not worth driving out of
your way for if you do not live in the area.

One of my favorite restaurants (and not just because it's conveniently
located for me). The restaurant was started by the same guy that
started Colors in Emeryville, and some of wait-staff have moved over
as well. If you liked Colors or Zza's (where the guy who started it
worked as a waiter some time ago, I think), you'll like this. It's a
little more upscale, so this is great for you; keep taking the kids to
Zza's :-)
There's a variety of Italian and 'California Cuisine' dishes
available, a good wine list, good coffee drinks and good desserts.
The wait-staff is friendly and efficient.
