Pasta Piatto = Heaven, Heaven and more Heaven. Sometimes I wake up at night dreaming of the Pollo Saltimbocca (Chicken stuffed with fontina cheese and sauteed mushrooms and smothered in a fantastic demi glace). Or the ravioli with tomato vodka sauce. Or the Pumpkin Angliotti sprinkled with crushed amaretti cookies and toasted hazelnuts and dripping in clarified butter sauce. There was never a dish that I have ordered at this restaurant that has been disappointing. Never. The signature house salad is composed of mixed greens with crumbled gorgonzola cheese (you can order with or without the cheese) and a nice light viniagrette. Fresh pasta made with great variety and care. This is well-crafter Italian food with covers the divieristy of the entire country. I thought that the salads with lacking in substance in as much as iceberg lettuce is the most common ingredient. That aside, there is much to be savored at this wonderful place.

This is one of the best Italian spots in Pittsburgh. Located in the quaint Shady Side neighborhood, the atmosphere and food combine for a truly Venitian experience. Pasta Piatto comes highly reccomended.

The pasta is very good - made fresh daily on the premises. This is Northern Italian food, so don't expect the usual spaghetti or lasagna entrees. But everything is wonderful.

Good food, interesting selection. Decent service and close to everything in Shadyside. Highly recommended place to stop when shopping on Walnut Street.
