I originally ate here for the first time about 7 years ago, and just ate here recently for the second time(within past week). There have been considerable changes: 1) Amel's use to have a buffet with all of the traditional middle eastern dishes (hummus, baba ghannouj, tabbouleh, grape leaves, etc.); this has sadly been discontinued. Secondly, the hummus was no doubt from a can. Though they do doctor it up (i.e. paprika, parsely and olive oil), nevertheless, it's still from a can.

Pleasant suprise, small dining area puts expectations at a low, but the food and service are EXCELLENT , if you like Medeterranian or just want to try it ya gotta try this place excellent value.
