Another visit to Pepe's and again not disappointed. This time
we ordered the small pies and each was excellent. Brought my daughter
and one of her friends with her and they both agreed, simply the best
pizza anywhere. White, Clam and Bacon with and without mozzarella,
either way you can't go wrong, so I had half and half. Definately
a toss up with each being perfectly made. Daughter had white, sausage
and garlic and it was equally delicious. Her friend had a regular pie,
tomato sauce and mozzarella and it was also excellent. Worth the drive
from New Jersey. Next time, I'll bring home a pie or two for the rest
of the family. Great eats here. Also they have opened a location in Manchester CT. Now they have four
locations, the Spot, Frank Pepe's in New Haven, Fairfield and
Manchester. Haven't yet been disappointed.

Great Pizza. Don't ask for a salad to start, like I did my first time
there. I got looked at like I had 12 heads. Get there early, they open
at 4 or 5.

I spent years in Connecticut and now I live in the midwest. But
whenever I go back east, no matter where I am in the east, I always
make a pilgrimage to Pepes. There is just nothing like it anywhere
on the planet. Sure there are other places similar, especially
in the New Haven area, but Pepes is the original. Yes, there are
some places called Tomatoes Apizza near where I live that serve
agreat pie, but it still isn't Pepes. There is something
indescribably unique about the pies from this place. It starts
with the huge paddles that they use to feed the gigantic brick
oven and it ends with the wonderful taste of the al-dente thin
crust that tastes jsut perfect. The ingredients are real, the
appearance of the free form pies are real and the taste is pure
heaven. I have been going to Peps for over 30 years and I won't
stop any time soon. It is no wonder that this place is said to be
the best pizza in teh world. I have enjoyed pizza all over italy,
in New York, LA Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, MExico and all
over the US. Pepes is the best hands down. They have red pies, white
pies and traditional cheese and tomatoe pies. They have great
clam pizzas too. They used to serve fresh clams. I don't know
if they still do. The line is often out the door and people wait
in line for the place to open. Peppis is simply the best.
