I grew up in Port Washington and in the late 80's to early 90's
I used to go to Yamaguchi's with my family, back then it was fantastic...now
the story is really different....the correct word is HORRIBLE! The
place is not as clean as it used to be and when I ordered sushi it was room
temperature, right there you know there is a serious problem. What
took me over the edge was the sushi chef had a band aid on his finger and
was slicing sushi. The service got pretty bad too, I was extremely dissapointed.
I am hoping that they were just having a bad week?

Yamaguchi's is the type of Japanese restaurant that can
spoil you. Go here and you are likely to criticize every other
Japanese restaurant you go to because something will be lacking.
The menu is exquisite, the taste fulfilling, and the beverages
perfect as well. Mrs. Yamaguchi is there making sure that perfection
is the standard and it seems as though everyone knows her so you
know repeat business is always in flow. From sushii to teriyaki
to desert, you will NOT be disappointed. Try your favorites first
before moving on to new things!

Yamaguchi serves some seriously excellent Japanese food. It
may not be pretentious, but the food is outstanding. The prices
are very fair. The atmosphere is friendly, the service is great,
and the decor is soothing. Yamaguchi is just one of those great
restaurants that you keep going back to. And Mrs. Yamaguchi is
an absolute sweetheart.
