Tourist trap. It is one of those places that developed a reputation
because it was always busy. I think they must have been serving family
and people that decide on the restaurant by price and quantity.

Dominicks is "classic". It'a an experience. You go in, sit at
a long table (in chairs, only 1 booth has a bench), probably with
other people(separated by the napkins, salt & pepper. They
ask you "what do you feel like tonight" No menu. The waiter, who's
worked there forever will tell you what's good tonight. Known
for the best "Baked Clams" in New York and their Specialty of the
House pasta dish "Linguine with Shrimp & Calamari." This restaurant
is not family style as reported. The portions are very large so
customers usually split them. At the end of your meal you say "How
much" and the waiter will tell you. No Check, it's all verbal.
Whatever you do, Don't have the coffee..it's terrible. Go next
door for a canoli and espresso.
Try Dominick's..go early..after 6pm you'll wait over an hour
to get in. 5:30 is perfect...also if you go to late they run out
of things like the stuffed artichokes..yum...

I cannot tell a lie. The place became popular because it was right
next to 3 of the slowest running bus stops in the city. They are
a family style restaurant, meaning that you'll be sitting on
a bench next to a stranger at a long table. I don't know if they still
have the saw dust on the floor, but I used to hate that.
