A neighborhood secret and a favorite of locals, several blocks from the overpriced tourist traps on the Ironbound's "Restaurant Row" (Ferry St.) ...Much better food at much better prices. The sauces are excellent, the shrimp are huge, and every entree is a delight. Waiters are cordial and efficient, but not overly friendly. However, they will accomodate a newcomer who is not familiar with a menu item by bringing a sample before he orders! And they often offer a free after-dinner drink. Virtually no atmosphere, and the bar gets loud during soccer season, but I go there to eat and do nothing else. A friend had a party there for his mother's 80th birthday several years ago, and her friends are still talking about it. A "must go"!!!
