Another over rated place. Maybe i'm hard on the places that SHOULD be good based upon their reviews and soft on the stinkholes. But this place HAS to be good based upon the long line of 'rave' reviews. I would think I'd get better service in a gulag. <br> I did enjoy my veal scappalini, but the service - have I mentioned the service? Just terrible.

I wasn't too impressed with the food or prices. I usually go to another italian restaurant in West Haven, Ct. I decided to try this one. The homemade bread was great! I ordered the homemade ricotti cavatelli, and although it was ok, you don't get nearly as much as the restaurant I usually go to, and it was almost twice the price here at consiglio's. I can't say that my experience here was awful, but there is a better place that I would rather go to. Too bad it's not listed here on this website, it would be a million stars!

Fantastic. I love the salad that you get with the meal, and if it was all cheaper I could go just for that. Definitely have to try this if you're ever in the area.

Great pasta dishes are rare on the west coast where I live (Seattle area) but Consiglio's is a point of light in the Italian food category. While visiting my sister in New Haven I had the great fortune to be taken here for dinner. The atmosphere was congenial yet elegant, the service was excellent, and the food divine. I had the scungilli diablo, which is squid (diced) In a spicy marinara sauce served over linguine. I have never been able to find it in any other restaurant since and would wish that Seattle area pasta places would add this recipe to their repetoire. The menu had a small but varied offerings including veal (which looked excellent, providing you have no qualms about eating calf meat), wonderful salads that came with the dinners, and the ever present bread served warm and proved a perfect accoutrement to my meal. This restaurant I would reccommend to anyone but especially to those lovers of Italian cuisine and pasta. I hope to return soon and visit this res ... more
