There is NO BETTER BBQ..... ANYWHERE. Whenever we visit family in KC, this is the first and last place. We ALWAYS bring back a cooler full of brisket.

Some of the most famous bbq in all of KC. The pulled pork is my favorite. It has soooo much flavor. It is very moist and tender. The sandwiches are almost too much for one person.

KC landmark. All big wigs have there pic on the wall. Presidents visit Bryants when in town. The neighborhood is scary, so dont go after dark, but other than that its one of the best bbq joints in town.

Located not far from the Jazz Museum, this resturant ranks up at the top for goooood barbeque. Ribs are served "dry", no sauce, and just fall off the bone. Sandwiches are big, I mean really big and are served with fries. Pictures on walls indicate that a few famous people have stopped by to get a taste of this barbeque. A MUST stop when in the area.

My KC flavortite for years. This is an old-time BBQ joint. No frills. The meat is served "wet" (with some fat). This is great without the sauce. The sauce is good. This is one of America's landmark BBQs. It may not be your favorite location and the decor may be a little rough but this is a 5 star for the real thing.

The food here is outstanding. The portion of meat they give you is HUGE. The one and only thing that wasn't great was the BBQ sauce. Other than that it is great.

With one of the salty/spicy sauces (a la Gates and Sons) rather than sweet sauces (a la KC Masterpiece), this restaurant has carved out a name for itself in a VERY competitive BBQ market. The wait is a bit long, but the food is quite good and the sauce, like it or leave it, is at least original. This is one of the restaurants you just have to try for yourself. You'll either make it a regular destination, or avoid it forever for one of the many alternatives in KC, but you just have to try for yourself to figure out which side of the fence you belong on.

Excellent smoked meats. Their sauce is an acquired taste that many people don't care for. Serving size is large. One sandwich is enough for two people. You definately get what you pay for. Visitors should give it a try.

This is the most over rated BBQ joint in KC. The food is greasy and the sauce is awful. Try this place at your own risk but don't say I did'nt warn you!

After reading this, you will know that Arthur Bryant's is my

favorite BBQ. There is just something about the sauce. Oh, the original only, please (I don't like the other sauce as much). It has a gritty texture to it, that I love. I use it for dipping

my fries into, instead of catsup. Sure, it is different, and

you will probably either love it or hate it. The atmosphere is poor, but I don't go for that. I go for the food. And, if you don't like the atmosphere, or area, get it to go. But, I think

the people that work there are nice and friendly, and the food is great. I usually get beef, fries, and beans. But, I don't think there is anything that is bad. Be sure to get the beans.

And, plan on waiting in line. That isn't because the service is slow, it is because the place is popular. And, check out the pictures on the wall, while you wait. Presidents and celebrities

have come from all over, for this food. Nuf said. Oh, and a little tip. If you get a sandwich and fries, get it to

go. Even if you stay there to eat it. You get more, if you do this. You see, when you get it to eat there, it has to fit on a plate. If you get it to go, they roll it up in butcher paper. And, on the way home, stop off at the market and get a loaf of bread. Great stuff!!

Arthr Bryants is the mecca for Kansas City BBQ, as the founder Arthur Bryant started this place umpteen years ago. The place doesn't look like it has been updated, or cleaned thoroughly since. The two sauces are a nice variety, provided you can hold onto the bottle with all the grease on them. Yes, as others have stated, the meat is kind of fatty. The sandwiches are very good sized, you almost need to take some of the meat off it to eat it. The fries and beans are good though. Overall, for the BBQ fanatic, try this if you don't mind the neighborhood. If you really want to be Bryant-ish, get your sandwich and head towards 18th & Vine for the Jazz atmosphere.

This is some of the best smoked meat I have ever had. The atmosphere is pretty much nonexistant, but the food more than makes up for it. It's located in a less than desirable area, but the trip, the wait, any other negative experience getting there is definately worth it. The sauce isn't special, but the meat really makes up for it. It is smoked so well that you don't even really need sauce.

A dumpy or homey looking place depending on your point of view, don't let the decor sway you in a negative way. The BBQ here is excellent with the original sauce unbeleivable with just the right amount of spice and brown sugar taste. I had the long ends and my sister had the beef sandwich. I would probably stay away from the beef sandwich even though it was large (meat not cut thick enough for me). The turkey looked good as well. The best part however was the baked beans. Sweet and saucy with the beans themselves melting in your mouth. Excellent and would go there again.

My friends took me here, insisting it was the best in KC.I thought the sauce was horrible, too much fat on the meat. I can describe this restaurant in one word, YUK!

This is food of the gods. Eating at Arthur Bryant's is a religious experience. The sauce is different than anything you have ever tasted. The quantities are legendary. This is my favorite barbeque restaurant.

The finest barbque I have ever had. The service was fast and friendly, there was plenty of seating, and the BBQ was the best. A slab of ribs, a plate of fries, and a pint of beans. It doesn't get any better.
