Did't bother to eat here. The host couldn't care less about his guests. The downstairs toom was musty and rather unpleasant

Di Millo's has good to excellent food, superb service and an elegant atmosphere. It's expensive but always worth it and they also have amble parking. It's hard to find a restaurant like this in Maine, although the view could be better.

I grew up in Portland and return here about 4 times a year to visit family. I would not want to leave here without eating at DiMillo's. I have never had a bad meal and they are reasonibly priced. The lobster stew is fantastic (best I have ever had and I teach cooking and have studied at the CIA in Hyde Park, NY and the Cordon Bleu in Paris!)On occasion when they are extremely busy, there can be some slight problems (as with any restaurant) which they have always handled in a very professional manner. I absolutely have NOT found it to be a tourist trap and feel sorry for the tourists that read the bad reviews and pass on this restaurant. Then again, it does make it easier for me to get in if they don't go.

Average in many ways, tho the novelty of being on the boat is enough to make it worth the trip if you're bringing out of state friends in.

Hours: Lunch 11 a.m.-4 p.m. daily; dinner 11 a.m.-11 p.m. daily, Sunday until 10 p.m.
Entrees $12.95-$34.95; higher prices for some lobster combinations
Reservations: Only for parties of six or more
Doesn't every summer call for one fancy lobster dinner with a water view? DiMillo's is a great place to bring your out-of-state visitors, and it's also very family-friendly.

the only reason I can think of to go here, is "the being on a boat" novelty. I am a local and warn everyone off this place. Portland has so many great restaurants, dont waste your time here. I have heard only bad things about it. The food is mediocre at best. Atmosphere is dark, and a little stuffy.
