One of the best restaurants in RI, I never had to wait for more than 10
minutes. the food is great, but be careful few waiters might trick you
with the refills, after you're done with your soda they ask you
if you want a refill, if you do, you get charged.

Of all the great restaurants in RI...why would anyone choose to eat
here? The food is below average at best...the menu, cooking style,
and atmosphere are way outdated. The waitstaff (all men?) Is there
a shortage of female waitstaff in Rhode Island? The bartenders are
rude (unless you're a regular good ole' boy). Do yourself
a favor...don't waste your time. There are far better restaurants
in RI.

If you donot act like a "soprano", don't bother going
here. Barstaff was god awful. They used to be professional, courteous,
and so fast. Now, you get, "what do you want?" I had to walk
out of a business lunch. For some reason, an already prepared caesar
salad takes longer than 45 MINUTES to make. Bar staff took care of their
goombas though even though they came in after us. My parents have been
going there since the 1950's but after this last visit, no more.

The only positive thing I can say about Twin Oaks is tht the food is decent
not great but pretty decent. I am not a fan of this place for more reasons
than one.......
1. They have not updated the interior in over 30 years
2. It is always crowded
3. There is never anywhere to park
4. It's in the Ghetto of Cranston
5. It looks like I stepped back into 1962
6. Tacky, Tacky, Tacky

A History:
The restaurant, named for the oak trees that shade its pastoral
grounds, has been operated as a family owned business for more
than six decades. It had its start as a speakeasy in 1933 during
the prohibition era and has made the transition from a small eatery
with 60 seats to the current operation with 650 seats, 6 separate
dining rooms, 3 bars and an outside patio bar. The restaurant
is the largest independent operation in Rhode Island and rated
number 44 within the United States as of 1995 and continues to
deliver quality, consistancy, and value to it's customers.
My Experience:
In my 29 years of time on this earth, I have been to Twin Oaks on hundreds
of occasions starting from the age of around 9 or 10.
When I was a child my favorite dish on the kids menu was the Open
Turkey (with all the fixins). As I have grown older and developed
more sophisticated tastes, I have run the menu up and down, always
looking for something new and exciting ...

I just went back yesterday after a dozen years away...the long
wait just made me not want to go back. Yesterday I went at 3PM so
of course there was no wait. I had the lobster plate which was delicious
and unbelievably HUGE! They even gave me some homemade ravioli
with it. I was sooooo stuffed but I had to eat it all as I was not going
home right away and I didn't have a cooler. I couldn't
let all that wonderful lobster go to some feral cat by the kitchen
door and it was $19! Excellent dish and I'm going back for
another one. Let's hope I don't have to wait because
I won't go to any restaurant that can't seat me in 20 minutes
tops!

Awesome chicken parm & veal, overall excellent atmosphere,
decent pricing for what you get. The only problem is the wait,
sometimes up to 2 hours! A nice choice for an intimate dinner.

A lot of people rave about this restaurant. But - I never understood
why? The food is good but not good enough for the 1 hour wait that
I had! That is just silly! There are plenty of other restaurants
in RI with food of a comprable quality.

This restaurant is a great place to take a date, as well as a regular
