I like the food, the location is ok, the prices are good, and the
staff is good. Decent chinese restaurant.

House of Chen is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. It's
near the UO dorm complexes, and is reasonably priced for a huge
amount of food. It's possible to feed 6 people for less than $15
and still have food left over.
Favorites are the family size hot-n-sour soup (the stuff comes
in BUCKETS), pork fried rice (lots of veggies, just enough pork
for flavor), and Mongolian beef (perfect blend of ginger and
onions).
Not-so-favorites: sauteed Happy Family (ya gotta wonder what's
under all that oyster sauce!), seafood of any kind (tends to be
very salty), General Tso's chicken (odd off taste every time
I've been there and someone with me orders it -- I've learned not
to try)
Good fortune cookies -- they get the ones that can have BAD fortunes
as well as the usual cryptic epigrams. It's fun to get "You will
be hit by a car." as a fortune, especially if you have to navigate
Franklin Ave late at night!
