While the service was very nice, I was a bit dissapointed with the price and quality of the food here.

The average entree runs from $12 to a little over $20 for dishes with seafood. None of your usual sides were included. We even had to order rice separately to go with our curry. No rice or breads on the table. And the prices are very high for what you get- it was $3 for a dish with a *single piece of naan!* (Naan = flat bread. Think pita...) An order of Gulab Jamun (fried dough balls served in a sweet syrup) was $4 for two golfball-sized dumplings!

Our curry dish was nice, though our chicken dishes were dry and overcooked, served on a hot iron like you'd get fajitas on in a mexican place. Many of the peppers and onions had burned to the bottom.

A single entree, an order of bread, a dessert, drink, and top ran me over $40. I have had food of the same quality from $10 lunch buffets at other Indian restaraunts. I will not be returning.

as far as indian restaurants go, cafe tandoor was a big flop. 1.) the chef is obviously american, 2.) price versus what you get is way out of line, entrees do not come with any accompaniments...all must be ordered separately, 3.) service was slow, 4.) food was very bland, very americanized, and not what youd expect from an indian restaurant. if your looking for good indian foon in the cleveland area try visiting the maharaja on richmond rd. in richmond heights. you can get a total meal including apetizers, free chutney and pappadum, an entree that comes with saffron rice and that is cooked by an indian chef, and dessert for about $25.00. the staff is incredibly accomodating, friendly, and willing to help, and the over all dining experience is satisfying, affordable, and very very enjoyable.

Went there twice, had the BEST food the first time, and was dissapointed the next. Not sure what to make of it at this point, but it's worth a try, and I'll give it a third shot too.
