Van's is a landmark in Shawnee. Southeastern styled pig
sanwiches. These aren't for everyone, as they come with
relish on them. I've have several dozen and I think I like
them. good ribs and more. Van's also has a "sit-down"
place downstairs. The basement has steak and more. It's
not similar to the upstairs operation but is recomended for a
"dinning" experince.
Interesting old building and nice folks.

If you are expecting "smoked meat" you are in for a let down. Enough
with the relish.

Van's has been around as long as I can remember. The food is excellent.
We call in an order of ribs and take them home occasionally. Very
good.

Van's Pig Stand, the upstairs restaurant, serves as a wonderful
place to get scrumpteous homestyle burgers and cut-potato fries.
The tables and walls are wooden, complete with the carvings of
previous customers. Van's Charcoal Room, the downstairs restaurant
is definately the best place in town to get savory steaks or ribs.
The entire meal, from the salads to the potatoes to the filet mignons,
are fresh and delicious. Van's is definately a treat.

Just say the name, "Vans, " in and around Shawnee, Oklahoma and
everyone knows what you're talking about. Simply it's the best
barbecue in the area and perhaps the tops in the entire state !
For rib lovers, Van's is your mecca. Meat so tender that it nearly
falls off the bone. In nearly 20 years of dining there, I've never
had anything less than excellent ribs - never dry or chewy. Topped
off with Van's own sauce, which is also sold in the local supermarkets,
and it's really something special.
Sandwich lovers are in for a treat with the selection of beef and
pork offerings. The homemade curly fries are always cooked fresh.
If you're a person who just has to have dessert, try Van's carrot
cake - it's out of this world.
For travelers on Interstate 40, exit on Highway 18 and travel
south for about 10 minutes. Turn right when you get to Highland
Street and you'll see the ancient building on your left. Also,
if you're a formal evening diner, try Van's Char ...
