Good food, beautiful outdoor garden, great beer selection.
My personal favorite is the Crop Circle Wheat.

A big pub with a full bar and a full restaurant. Beware of crowds.
We went on a Friday night and the wait was something like 45 minutes.
Always great food and beer. I frequent this place often

I went here for several parties. It was very nice they accomodate
large groups very well. We all had a great time and enjoyed our
meals and drinks. I think it's also a great place to celebrate
nice occasions there, it's not to fancy but fancy enough
to have a nice dinner with fellow workers or for a romantic dinner
with your loved one.

A big pub with a full bar and a full restaurant. Beware of crowds. We went on a Friday night and the wait was something like 45 minutes.
Once we were seated, it was quite pleasant. I had a chicken breast
sandwich with honey mustard sauce. It was competently made,
but it was absolutely soaked with sauce. It made the sandwich
hard to eat. It tasted pretty good, though.
The service was good, sort of. The waiter accidentally dropped
a tray of food for our party, so some of us had to wait for our food
while others in our party ate. That's not such a problem.
The way they handled it, however, was. Instead of merely apologizing,
or even just taking something off the tab, they went mildly insane.
They took 50% off our check, and to top it off, the waiter just gave
us a $20 bill. It was, to say the least, awkward. We gave the waiter
his money back, and we were pretty confused by the half-off tab,
so we weren't sure what to pay. I realize they felt bad, but

Great selection of brews and entrees to choose from. I recommend
anything from the sandwiches to the Northwoods Pie. Also has
one of the best, if not the best, beer garden in Madison

Great Atmosphere, full bar and large menu. I have eaten there
on several occasions and would recommend it. Those on a diet however
be warned.. there are selections that are healthier on the menu
but it is too tempting to indulge. The beers are excellent. My
favorite is the Red Lager. This is not my favorite place in Madison
but it would be one of my first choices if I was entertaining several
people with varied tastes. It can be very crowded and noisy so
don't expect a quiet dinner for two.

The Great Dane does have the distinction of being LARGE and
consistently good. With an expansive menu (including an always
available fish fry) the Dane is a good bet for those indecisive
diners. It also reaps automatic stars for the outdoor courtyard
which has European aspirations. A better beer garden would be
truly hard to find.
