As a former, recent employee of Duck City's, I think I might be able
to offer another viewpoint that many potential patrons might find
enlightening. Bear in mind I worked at this restaurant for a full year,
so my experience there is not a flash in the pan, nor is it based upon the
animosity of a disgruntled ex-worker, for I was, until such time as
I quit, a career server/bartender who prided myself upon my professionalism
and skill.
Chef Charles, while admittedly friendly to those with deep pockets,
is quite possibly the most crooked, dishonest, ill-tempered man in
the Quad Cities, though his son, the head cook (I hesitate to say 'Chef',
knowing what I do of his cooking style) Jeremy, comes in a close second.
I sincerely hope the moderators do not take down this review, for while
it may strike them as a conflict of interest, the people that are planning
of dining at Duck City need to know what they're getting into. The owner, Chef Charles, will berate any employee who ...

Oh lordy! If you go to duck city, just make sure you don't run
into Charles, the proprieter. Although, he is usually there.
talk about overbearing. There are plenty good places to eat
in the quad cities, i suggest going somewhere else. Although
the
food is okay, If you are a true foodie, you will realize that he
has taken good "big city" food and bastardized it. For the love
of god, try someplace else, if only to avoid Charles!

What a unique dining experience in the Quad Cities! From deli
during the day to cozy bistro at night, the atmosphere is sure
to please. The ala carte menu at dinner provides a lot of variety
and excellent portions. The desserts are worth planning ahead
for and don't forget about the after dinner drinks and cigars.
Definitely a dining experience not to be missed.

I've eaten at Duck City several times. Every time the food was
excellent, both preparation and presentation. Tonight, however,
the waiter (Chris) dropped the ball. The entree was an hour in
coming to the table. Tables around us who arrived after we did
were served frist. An apology was offered, but no offer was made
for a complementary dessert or after dinner drink. To add insult
to injury, the busboy clearing the table managed to drop a gravy-covered
knife on a brand new black cashmere sweater. That was not even
apologized for! If this type of food is what you like, I would suggest
C'est Michelle in Moline. Same quality food, far superior service
and attention.
