A place where everyone goes in cincinnati for Indian. Near UC in Clifton, parking sucks but the food is very good if you like lots of curry. you have to be in the mood, but nowhere better for Indian in cincinnati.

This restaurant was pretty good! If you enjoy spicy food then Ambar will fit your palate. Great lunch specials, excellent service and wonderful ambience, this is one of the best ethnic restuarants in the entire Cincinnati area! The chicken tikka soup was splendid, the aloo vindaloo--potatoes in hot sauce were both awesome. Check it out you'll be glad you did.

Surely the most popular 'Desi' restaurant in town. Has excellent N.Indian dishes. Try the samosas with the tamarind chutney. The Bhartha, Shahi Chicken Korma and the Mango Lassi are hot favorites! No matter what you order, you Can't go wrong with this place!

Ambar India is widely regarded as the best Indian restaurant in Cincinnati, and I tend to agree. Everything here is well done, the portions are healthy, and they'll keep bringing rice out to accompany the meal as long as you want. Order some naan, a thin, crispy yet chewy flatbread, to go with your meal.

A local favorite. You have got to like curry to eat here. Take someone who has been here before or who knows Indian food for the best results. Authentic food and service, one of the best in town.

The entire restaurant is non-smoking as well, and there is no bar area to enjoy a drink while waiting. Other than that, this is the best Indian in town.

Ambar is the best Indian restaurant in the city. Casual dress. Comfortable with cloth napkins and tablecloths. If you have never tried Indian food, don't be too concerned about "heat". At Ambar, you can order the "hot/spicyness" of the dish. They are happy to explain dishes and "hot/spicyness" levels. The curry is thick and complex, this is THE BEST CURRY in the area! Lots of vegetarian options. Loads of appetisers, but beware because the portions of the entrees are ample. The nan (Indian flat bread) is soft and delicious. I like the garlic nan. Try the Vindaloo if you like it hot. Vinegary, peppery, spicy! Cool off with a Mango Lassi...The Indian yogurt milkshake.
