This restaurant has a picturesque view of the Intracoastal waterway
and the historic pontoon bridge crossing to Sunset Beach Island. Between
their Angus steaks and their baby back ribs in their own special sauce
I am not sure which is the best. Keith, Garry (the owners) and staff put
their own special touches to your visit here. So go ahead sit on the deck
under the live oak trees and watch the boats glide by as you indulge yourself
with the fine food or a superb drink!! It is worth your while to check
this Brunswick county hidden asset out!!

Absolutely the best! We've been enjoying Lexington barbecue
and fruit cobblers since the 1960s!

Outstanding. Went there for the first time last year and knew
I had a winner when the parking lot was so full at lunch, I had to wait just
to park!! Very friendly service. Only downside was
mediocre hushpuppies.

I have had BBQ in Kansas City (Arthur Bryant’s and the other famous one...),
Memphis's dry rub BBQ, all over East and West NC (yes, I know we have
supposedly two types), and of course in Texas. Much of it is good, very,
very good. But when you eat fresh Lexington BBQ, it’s the best of the
best. It’s very lean and the sauce it comes in, is to me a mixture of Eastern
and Western NC BBQ. It has vinegar with a touch of tomato base for a sweet
and sour taste.
People, who have had it, ask me to bring some if I possibly can when I travel
through this area. It’s very much worth a detour.
They, of course have chopped, but try one of the other two varieties.

This is the only "Lexington" BBQ I've ever had
(catered) but it wasn't as good as Little Pigs or Port a Pit
in Statesville. Disappointed.

Lexington Barbecue is without a doubt one of my all time favorite
places to eat. I live around 50 miles away but it is well worth the
trip for maybe the finest "Q" in the USA. Not only is
the food great but the happy family style service is a plus.

Yes, it is always full around lunch time. The wait still is never
long due to the great help. Always service with a smile. The owner
seems to be able to make time to speak to everyone. If you like barbecue
this place is a must.

Some of the best BBQ around for sure. If you are new to the area or
just passing by (as I was when I found it), stop, you'll be
glad you did. It is rare to find someone who does not like to eat
here.

The HoneyMonk as we locals know it.
The location makes it difficult to get into during a lunch rush,
and if heading south on 29-70, even more difficult to get back
on the hiway.
While worth stopping at if you are in the area, suggest you wait
till about 1pm to stop in, as every redneck in town will be there
from 11 to 1.
