Well, went back to Katz's Deli because I can't seem to go to
NYC without going to Katz's. Had matzoh ball soup and a corned beef
sandwich which were excellent..better than the deli's in Los
Angeles and there are some great ones there. Going to Katz's is
an experience and I recommend that if you are in NYC you try it..you'll
like it!

I have to agree with some of the other comments about this place. There
was a wait for our food, but it was definately worth the wait. Good quality
food, and not too expensive either.

My favorite deli in California is Canter's in Los Angeles and now
my other favorite deli is Katz's in NYC! We were told we had to go
there while in NY so we did and we weren't disappointed. Corned
beef on rye was great, as well as everything else we had. I recommend
it highly if you are in NYC and want to go to a good old fashioned Jewish
Deli.

Arguably the city's best Jewish deli. The motto is, "There's
Nothing More New York Than Katz's, " and it's
spot-on. Founded in 1888, this cavernous, brightly lit place
is suitably Noo Yawk, with dill pickles, Dr. Brown's cream
soda, and old-world attitude to spare.

Read all the reviews, they are pretty accurate. My review is of
a story. I hadn't been to Katz's in 13 1/2 years. I was
about 20 when I went and then 33 when I went again. Across the counter
from me was Herbie who said to me right off the bat "How's
Herbie". Herbie was also the name of my Dad who had moved
to Florida 4 years earlier. Not only that, but he knew my order:
A Pastrami on Rye with a side of French fries and a Coke. Now diet
coke, but still, what service! Only ay Katz's!

The decor of a high school cafetaria, the production line of a
ford motor plant, and sandwiches made in heaven! One of the finest
Jewish deli's in town! And don't forget to have what
she had (signs on every table remind you of it, a reference to the
movie When Harry met Sally!)

As you likely already know, this is where the "orgasm"
scene in "When Harry Met Sally" took place. It is also
where Presidents, dignitaries, and many famous actors have
also dined - and they have the pictures on the wall to prove it.
Why are all of these people going there? It is the best in the city.
The hot pastrami on rye is unrivaled (and is much better than 2nd
ave deli). The corned beef is also good. Enjoy the pickles and
a couple of latkes with your sandwich.

This is a great place to eat you will have to wait a while for your
food but they make the best and biggest corned beef sandwiches
hands down!

This, the perfect destination for late night eats on the Lower
East Side, or when you just want to have a fabulous sandwich or
a hot dog. It can rightfully claim to have the best corned beef
and pastrami in New York, you will get a fabulous overstuffed
sandwich for around $10.

A LANDMARK... GREAT CORNED BEEF AND PASTRAMI. THE SANDWICHES
ARE SO OVER STUFFED THAT YOU CAN MAKE 2 SANDWICHES OUT OF ONE, AND
THEY GIVE YOU PLENTY OF PICKLE SLICES WITH YOUR SANDWICH.
