We would NEVER go back here. We went there for lunch..hoping to see some chicken, steak, pasta dishes. The lunch menu was almost all sandwiches with fries, and appetizers. We ended up with an oversalted seafood chowder soup and a tuna melt and fries , and a clam chowder with a burger and fries. The food was ho-hum and nothing to rave about.
We ordered one margarita and one mixed drink, and the two drinks cost $11.57. Outrageous. The total bill for sandwiches drinks, and soup came to $35.57....NOT including the tip! Outrageous price for what we got. $40.00 total!
We were at the restaurant between 12:15 and 1:15 and the place was practically empty. No wonder!! The word must be out that the John Harvard restaurant has a poor lunch menu, ho- hum food, and prices that make a visit not worth anyone's time.

This is one of the few restaurants that just can't get it right. Every time I go they seem to screw something up in a major way. I've now sworn the place off. I found the food to be average, and usually worse than that. Additionally I find the beers to be boring (and occasionally skunky.) Stay away!

Great food and booze. must be in the mood for that dark, tucked in feeling. Bring a friend, try it out-- few will have a bad experience.

Great brewhouse with tons of food choices. This great place close to the highway and the mall has it all. Wonderful appetizers (try the lobster bisque), entrees and desserts to die for. Above all else the home brew is fantastic.

Much less crowded than the location in Cambridge, but still can become packed on weekends. Very nice comfy type atmosphere. Dining area with nice wood tables is comfy. Sometimes finding seating can take a while though. If you don't mind sitting on a bar stool and eating on a counter that's okay though. The food can go from your average pub fare, to an entree with fabuloud flare. Depending on how much you want to spend. It is a mix between bar and lofty dining. The beer is wonderful. Don't forget to brink home a glass.
