Extensive wine list, dining is an event here. It's not fast food
so if you're in a hurry you're better off elsewhere. We were
not disappointed at all.

I've never had a disappointing experience, however - it is true
that if you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford
it. If you're willing to go into the meal without regard for the
price, you'll have an exceptional meal. You can save money by
skipping the wine, a wine coupling with a tasting menu ($85) can
run you an extra $50 per person. Your servers can recommend a beer
or you can keep your palate unbiased with simple water. This is
a leisurely meal, I see some reviews that mentioned the time it
took to get their dishes - this is to ensure that you have time to
enjoy it, not be insulted by a borrage of food. The courses are
small so that when it's time for dessert, you're 'almost' too
full, but never really - there's always room and you won't be sorry.
The food is genius! The evening is meant to last - you decide if
the price tag is 'worth it'. I say it is...

At fist glance the atmosphere is wonderful. Cozy little bar area, open art-deco-wannabe
restaurant. But a big disappointment after that. If this is the best the Twin
Cities has to offer, you "betcha" we're in big trouble. The Campbell-less
soup had as much substance as Jesse Ventura's state of the state speech. The
service was adaquate if you looked anxious or important enough. Otherwise,
buy an over-priced glass/bottle of wine and come prepared for some while-you-wait-a-long-time
conversation. Then the piece of unresistence ... the famed Wisconsin veal.
Another reason the cheesheads are laughing at us right now. Okay, it tasted
fine, once you surgically removed all the grizzly fat, which there was more
of than the advertised tastey veal. Hardly worth the $34 listed price. Afterwards,
some lukewarm coffee that was fitting of the meal and experience. The only
thing that met my expectations was the bill ... it was as overpriced as I was
underwhelmed. Blah! Two sta ...

Over rated. Food is OK, but not wonderful, especially for the price.
Wine list is to expensive.

"THE" place to go for any special occasion (or if you want to impress
someone)- have never been disspointed with any facet of this
establishment - they have it all food, wines, atmosphere & service.
The only thing that could mar an evening here is the company you
choose to bring!

I took my parents here. It's a great restaurant. It has a
very good wine list. I recommend it wholeheartedly!

For a restaurant to be considered truly great, the guest
should consider the meal an event, with every component
of the evening contributing to his or her enjoyment.
Goodfellows is one of the rare restaurants that succeeds
at attempting to be truly great. The ambience, mood,
service, wine list and (of course) the food itself
blend their individual excellence to make something
greater than the sum of its parts. When in town, I make
a habit of frequenting this gem as one of my 5
'must-do's' of Minneapolis.

I think one of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities (perhaps THE
best) and ranks up there as one of the better I have ever eaten at on
a good day. Terrific wine list.
