I don't think I have ever been to a restaurant that was so highly recommended that turned out to be so bad. I consider myself to be a pretty fair judge of barbeque and this really didn't measure up. The pork was basically tasteless, the sauce which we had heard so much about was bland. Adding Tobasco made it somewhat lively. All in all it was a very disappointing experience. The only reason this place has a long line is that there is no one competent working the counter, and there must be a whole lot of people out there who don't the meaning of good barbeque.

Anyone that has heard about this restaurant i need to tell you that you have to go to try it. Their beef brisket is just delicious, their corn bread is also delicious. The ribs are just wholsome, and not to say anything about their porky which is oh so good. I must warn you that you will eat a lot because you will not be able to stop your self, this place is just that good.

Maybe I caught Dixie's on a very bad day, but 2 stars is generous.

I was looking for a pork sandwich. It was swimming in sauce, as was the beef. I believe that the meat should speak for itself, and the only unsauced meat I could order were pork ribs. They were old, like they had been on the steam table for too long. Very disappointing considering how its rated here.

You haven't lived until you've "met the Man"! Order a 520 special, red beans and rice, corn bread, and a slice of sweet potato pie... then sit back and wait for the owner to come by with a pot of hot sauce to fire you world all up!!

An excellent place to go for the best barbeque you will ever find. You will love their prize winning white and red sauce. They have the best loaded potato you will find. Great pies also. They are very friendly and you get fast service. Try it, you'll love it.

I will keep this short and to the point. The ribs were good, the service was good, the atmosphere was good. So all I guess I can say was Dixie's was average (good).

Great bbq ribs. I never got to meet "the man" but the wait staff was courteous and attentive to our needs. They have generous portions for all their food.

have you "met the man"? if not, go check this place out. the food is good southern bbq. the owner makes his rounds and shares the unique fiery concoction that people brag about enduring. everything is tasty, although the service is only adequate.

"I met the man at Dixie's BBQ, YEAH BABY!" What else can be said? It's so popular they sell bumper stickers! The food is definately the best BBQ I've ever had, some of the best food I've ever had period, and I hate BBQ! The owner's special blend of 'The Man' will kick your butt and won't let you up for 15 minutes. You have to try this place, though it may be a little hard to find, it's worth the search!

Wonderful food served in such a non-Eastside atmosphere, that it's trendy. Avoid sunny days unless you want to spend your entire lunch break in line. Some suggestions: -Monday's are the quickest. -Southern style catfish on Tuesdays. Good stuff! Call ahead for it. -Meet the man! -Carpool - the parking lot is SMALL! -They also prepare corporate orders (Great for parties!!)

Well if you love BBQ & spicy food then this is the place to go.
Their BBQ beef or Pork sandwiches are awesome.
If you love HOT & SPICEY, make sure to "meet the MAN" and you will be gauranteed a great meal.

Hot is the only way to go here. You got to be the man every now and then. This is worth more than 5 stars.

I am proud to say "I HAVE met The Man!" oh yeah... Also did my part of putting up a pin for Hawaii (There's a map in the dining area where customers put a pin where they're from... Believe me, the WHOLE world is practically covered!)... The atmosphere is excellent with interesting decor (it used to be a auto garage), fine music, and the smell of authentic Louisiana style BBQ! I have NEVER tasted such fine barbeque! The brisket just melts in your mouth and I just had to get seconds for their sweet potato pie... If you haven't met The Man yet, what are you waiting for?!!

What else is there to say, "Have you met the man?". Might I suggest the slightest of tastes of the man, otherwise make sure you have something to drink close by, and or some bread. I've tried everything from the sandwiches to the combo plate, red beans and rice (I grew up on this stuff!), Pork & Beef ribs, chicken, cornbread. The smell of the kitchen will make your mouth water way before you taste anything.
Its not the easiest place to find, part of a Auto repair place and off the beaten path, and it can only be called BBQ/picnic table dining. Get there early for lunch or you'll be looking for someplace to sit. The owner walks around with his pot of the man, daring the heat lovers in the crowd to redefine their idea of HOT.
Its a must for BBQ lovers
