I stopped in for lunch after reading the other reviews. Funny looking from the outside. Small on the inside and loaded with people. I sat down and after I finally got someone’s attention I was immediately brought some very hot chips and some great spicy salsa. Loved the chips – not greasy and hot. Usually I ask for the spicy salsa, but this time around I didn’t because the salsa I was brought was already spicy (and I had a difficult time getting someone’s attention again). Good tasting salsa. I ordered the regular chicken burrito (even though there was something called a Super). I thought it was great because it was plenty and it wasn’t stuffed with refried beans. It had plenty of savory chicken and tasty rice. Yummy. Maybe just a little big for lunch, but so what I ate the whole thing. I will defiantly go back and try the other menu options. I hope the rest is just as good.

Great food and a good atmosphere! The rustic looking exterior really makes you think you are in Mexico. Try the beef tacos and you won't be disappointed, couple that with a XX beer and leave satisfied!

This is the greatest little restaurant there is. The food is great, I've tried almost every item on the menu and so far so good. If you are in the area definetely try La Pinata, and I'll bet it won't be the last time.

BY FAR THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN THE BAY AREA. Don't let the way the exterior fool you. There is definetely great food and service inside. I live four cities away and I still go out of my way to eat there. Everybody must try it.

You would be hard pressed to find better authentic mexican food. Exterior looks like a shack but the interior is very cozy. Service is prompt and atentive. If not the food, the service with bring you back for more.

La Pinata is a great local joint. My husband (who is a Texan) considers their salsa to be the best he’s had in California! That’ saying a lot. The chicken Mole’ is superb as is their Pork Verde. There is nothing unique on this menu, just good Mexican food in large portions with low prices.

I have eaten at many Mexican places, and have yet to find a place as fantastic as La Pinata. As most people say, don't be fooled by the exterior, the food inside is absolutely superb. Try the chicken chimichanga, the best I have ever had. But the one thing that I believe that makes La Pinata stick out from the rest is the salsa. It is very spicy, but bearable, which means that it's spicy enough to quench a spice lovers appitite, but bearable enough for most moderate spice eaters. Always fresh and that goes for everything!

La Pinata is one of the best Mexican restaurants that I have eaten at. The wait can be long, but the food is excellent and authentic, well worth it. This place is far better than La Imperial and you are much less likely to get food poisoning here.

La Piñata serves good, no-frills food. The large portions of conventional Mexican fare arrive quickly and very affordably. The taste is fine, if not inspired – and consistent enough for very regular visits. The decor is equally straightforward, with a jukebox playing Mexican music, Mexican beer posters on the wall, and a single silk rose on the standard-issue tables. There can be a wait of up to 15 minutes at peak hours, but usually there's none at all. I've yet to finish my favorite three-item combination – two chicken enchiladas and a chicken taco – and yet to spend more than $9 for this meal, including a refillable drink, tax and tip. Good food, exceptional value!

Don't be fooled by the exterior. The food is wonderful and the service very fast and friendly. Usually populated at lunch by regulars who don't share the secret of a good and inexpensive place to eat. The atmosphere is appropriate and after a while it grows on you! Try it at least once.
