The four star rating which I finally opted to give this restaurant (after much debating with myself) is based on the excellent food, the generous portions and the extremely reasonable prices. However, let's face it, this place is not La Tour d'Argent. It's a family owned and run business that's been here for over 50 years now. Do any of you remember how delicious Pete's Fish and Chips used to be when they were first starting out in the Valley of the Sun? That's how good the fish and chips at the Knock Kneed Lobster are today. I did not know what to expect, having never eaten here before, even though it has been around so long. Some consider it a Phoenix "tradition" or golden oldie in inexpensive seafood/fish and chips. The atmosphere is comparable to a Captain D's or a Long John Silver's where you order at a counter from a big menu posted on the wall as you enter. You pick the booth or the table where you choose to sit if you are eating ... more

I have eaten at this establishment many times in the past, and each time, the food was the same as they rarely change the menu. This restaurant has been in the same location for many years and is well established. It is a good place to go for lunch and have a fish dinner. It is geared to more of a family style, is rather generic inside as far a decorations are concerned; nothing fancy, but the food has always been good. Menu ranges from white fish fried with a coating to shrimp. Plates are arranged with 1, 2, 3, 4 pieces of fish with fries, and you can have a variety of different fish with each plate. Tartar sauce is abundant as is the cocktail sauce. They also serve beer and wine along with soft drinks. I recommend it!
