the most delicious chicken I have absolutely ever ate!!!!!5
black customers camein after us and they were waited on before
us. staff was rude and short with us and we wer seated near the bathroom
. if the staff wants to make a statement there, thats fine with
me as long as its not on my lunch hour. Although the food was absolutey
excellent I will never go back because I took the hint. Not to mention
that this restaurant deserves a better locale. the owner could
become a millionaire!!!

I have been all over this country, and this is without question
THE BEST fried chicken I have ever tasted. I heard about the place
and stopped by there with a friend for lunch. Being a white person
and from the Wash DC area, I have never felt so white in all my life.
We were seated in a table way in the back by the bathroom. We barely
got any service and were barely spoken to. The servers were brash
and short with us. We waited about 45 minutes for our food to come.
But the rough service and long wait was well worth the wait. The
food was generous and fabulous. The sides were tasty too. The
selection is limited, which depends on what time of day you get
there. They have what they have until it runs out. Everything
is so fresh. Next time I might try carry-out so as not to be so uncomforable
in that setting.
The other review said the place was clean. When I was there, the
place was filthy and run down, but all that doesn't matter once
your food comes.

Mrs. Whites Golden Rule Cafe has been in Phoenix on Jefferson for
over 30 years. It was started by Mrs. White, a Christian Minister. She
opened her cafe as an independent effort to care for and support her 5
children. Her food is so good that her clientel has included nearly every
celebrity who has ever passed through Phoenix. The Goden Rule Cafe is know
through out America. It is especially a favorite haunt of professional
sports stars, who autograph the walls. On any day you may be seated next to
any one of the Pros from the Phoenix teams, or any visiting team,
government officials, and media stars.
The cafe itself is modest, clean, and has the 'down home' atmosphere of the tradition olsd SoulFood
restaraunt.
A family run business, the service is polite and personal.
The food consists of the soul food fair. Chicken, chops, fish, etc.,
veggies, rice & gravy, corn-bread, and a Peach-Cobbler to kill for.
Portions are very generous and there is no microwaving. Everythi ...
