a visit to new orleans would not be complete if you did not stop
here. since I live here I get to sample the beignets and coffee
all the time. For you newcomers the coffee might knock you on your
butt as they serve chickory coffee and it is STRONG. I love to visit
early or late in the day and the views and people watching are great.

As a native New Orleanian, it would be a crime for me to not write
a few words about CDM. And here they are: if you ever eat a beignet,
you'll prefer them--no doubt--to any doughtnut on the planet.
It's a treat to watch the cooks make them, so if you go around the
building, there is a window where you can look in and see the whole
process. Don't be surprised if they throw powdered sugar at you!
Lots of fun, and a true part of N.O.

You can't visit New Orleans without going here one morning. Once
you have tried it, you may have to make return trips on the same
trip. I have never have anything quite like a beignet in my life.
They are absolutely fabulous. The atmosphere is wonderful as
well. As you sit endulging on beignet at this open-air cafe, you
can be entertained by local musicians or mimes. What a great experience
for anyone of all ages!

Begniets are one of God's gifts to man. These powdery donut puffs
are fantastic along with a cup of their delicious cafe au lait
with chicory. The atmosphere is second to none - bustling servers,
happy tourists, open air patio dining to watch the world go by.

beignets, beignets, beignets and of course a heapin' helpin'
of chickory coffee. And it is the best in the contiguous United
States. No Trip To New Orleans is complete with out a stop at du
monde. and don't forget to get a can of coffee and a box of beignet
mix to take with you so you can remind yourself why you would rather
be in Louisiana no matter where you are from.
