A French Quarter balcony restaurant just oozing romance, The
Royal Cafe is unquie and traditional all wrap up in one. With piano
music downstairs and balcony tables upstair the food is only
half the pleasure of this wonderful restaurant. However, let's
talk food for a second. One word: Excellent!

if you like a cosy environment, then you'll love it here... the
wait staff was great, the food was even better. It was possibly
one of the finest dining experiences i have ever had.

Follow the advice of the other reviewers and make sure that you
get a table out on the second floor balcony. It is a terrific view
to perfectly compliment the service and food.

I had breakfast here. I was disappointed. The food was very bland.
The service was sketchy. Loud, and cluttered are some words that
come to mind. The whole experience was second rate. I will not
go back.

The food was fantastic, in fact we ate there 3 of the 5 days we were
in town. The view from the balcony was great, but I also enjoyed
the piano player on the first floor at night. Try It!!!

Great place to dine on the balcony. No reservations taken so you
need to arrive early as this place is really popular.

Another of those small, romantic, friendly spots one loves in
the Quarter.
Be sure to try the Potato Boulettes...a fritter/cake item, of
diced crawfish and shredded potato, onion and peppers, sautéed
and served with a heavenly sauce. This dish MADE our meal.
As with ALL N.O. restaurants, they close for several hours
between lunch and dinner.

Royal Cafe offers inventive Creole cuisine served on
the French Quarter's most romantic balcony. Winner
of the Wine Spectator's 1996 'Award of
Excellence'. The perfect place to feel and taste the
essence of Old New Orleans.
