A good quality mexican restaurant in an area that generally favors cuban cuisine. Actually, 3.5 stars would, for my money, be a more accurate rating. I've eaten here about four times, and everything I've tried has been good to very good. The prices are certainly moderate, and the atmosphere good, though a bit crowded. I generally opt for the sidewalk tables. In a good location, just off the Lincoln mall, and only about 4-5 blocks from the beach.

One reviewer described this as the best Mexican restaurant in Miami Beach which is why I went there. It proved to be average or slightly better than average, but nothing special to make the trip worthwhile if you were not in the area. Then again, maybe I am spoiled because I've lived in Texas, and there, most of the restaurants with this cuisine, are equal or better than El Rancho Grande.
