Anyone who has said anything positive about this place must be on
their payrollcrack cocaine.
This place SUCKED! I don't have the time to go into the many problems. Don Juan himself
is a jerk. I dared to say that the Sangria wasn't good and he hastefully took the jug
away so quickly that he spilled half of it on the table. The rice was dry,
the food in general was awful. La Fonda Latina has better Paella, and
I don't consider their paella to anything special.
I wouldn't go back to this place if it were FREE.
I would rather take a date to McDonald's than step into this place.
This owner seems to not care too much about his clientele, not surprisingly there were
3 tables all night on a saturday night (yes, it took all night just to have this ?$**#@
meal.

It is hard to beat Spanish cuisine regardless the basic ingredient in
the dish. Sorry, this is the only authentic Spanish restaurant in the
South. But having a few slices of chorizo, Serrano ham, and Manchego
cheese with dry sherry followed by a sizzling paella accompanied by a
dry white wine from Penedes or Rioja, topped with flan is an
experience that no human being should be without. Certainly, at a
decent Spanish restaurant other great meal combinations are offered
which is true at Don Juan's. Its only drawback may be its price. A
truly delightful meal for two adults may run into the $40-$60 range
including tapas, wines, main course, and dessert. But the experience
would barely fall short of the magnificence of native Spanish
'feasting'. The service, by the way, is exceptionally good.

We waited 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, and another 20
before we had our first piece of bread. We were there 2 hours 15
minutes total. We had the 5 course special. It was okay, nothing to
return for however. There was five waiters taking care of 10 tables of
various sizes-you do the math! Other people seemed to be okay with
this time consuming meal , maybe I missed something? It's a quaint
little place, if you have a lot of time to wait.

Don't know what's happened since Jan. of 1996, but our
experience here was awful. We tried the 5 course special.
Out of 10 dishes, one was good and one was okay. Paella
fairly tasteless, cake still frozen. They were shorthanded
and hosting a large party, but we thought 2 and 1/2 hours a
little excessive for a meal. We really wanted to like this
place and hoped they were just having a bad night, but I don't think so.

A very romantic & fun atmosphere with live
entertainment. The most authentic Spanish cuisine I
have had in the south. Excellent paella and tapas.
