A Denver Institution, for many reasons: 1)Worst Mexican food restaurant in Denver 2)Only place that offers watching cliff divers as entertainment, 3) One of the most popular places to bring kids. Adults - eat before you go.

My husband & I first experienced Casa Bonita in 1982---& it was such a blast, between the food & the entire extravaganza of the atmosphere, that we talked it up to friends, family, & business acquaintances from that time on!

We live 15 hours driving time from Denver, & we've been back to Denver several times since 1982---& part of the fun is the anticipation of a trip to this really cool restaurant! We wouldn't miss it for anything---the experience of soaking up the atmosphere is well worth it, & the food is good, too!

As a kid I grew up in Denver and we ate @ CB and we loved it. I moved away and 15 years later I got to visit and bring my kids, they loved it. It has been almost 1 year and my son still talks about going back, my daughter wants to go again as well. Although the food did seem a little different then I remembered, it was still good. My son tried Fried Ice Cream for the first time and now he is "addicted" my daughter is "addicited" to soapapillas. I tell anyone who visits the area to go, you have to absorbe the entire atmosphere and you have to go more than once to absorbe it all. I plan to bring my kids back soon and we will have a ball!!!!!!!!!!!

As a kid I visited this place during my first trip to Denver. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food than this is not the place for you. I agree with may of the other reviews saying if you have kids they will really enjoy it. It is fun and a vacation memory. It is the Chuck-E-Cheese version of Mexican, but I would go back to take my kids so we can share the memory.

The food is worse than Taco Bell (a fact all locals will agree with)! You go for the atmosphere. Kids love it. If you don't have kids, don't bother.

Wow! What a range of scores. CB is a polarizing place, obviously. If you get there, get a great table, have fun, drink a lot, perhaps you ignore the fact that the food is just fast-food Mexican, in a cooler locale. If you get a bad table, and don't have kids, and don't drink enough, you notice that it is just fast food. Hey, how many places that have inspired South Park episodes are you going to eat in? Try it at least once. And, it's pretty cheap.

The food is quite average, but the atmosphere is outstanding. If they would work on their food, it would be a slam hit.

I had great memories of this restaurant from my parents taking me here when we were on vacation as a child. I was in Denver with my oldest child who was 13 at the time, we went there for a special girls weekend. I wanted her to experience this restaurant and give her memories like mine. After waiting over an hour to be seated, we were put into a room downstairs in the back with absolutely no view of the waterfalls or the divers. I went back out to the hostess, and explained our situation, and that I was willing to wait as long as necessary for a better table, and she said, sorry, can't help you. I was very angry and upset, and to top it off the food was gross. I did give this 2 stars instead of 1 due to my childhood memories, but I was extremely disappointed and unhappy after my last visit.

This is a great place! The set up is like you are in a mexican town. We had such a great time here! So much to see and do. And the food was good too. If in Denver, it's a must!

The atmoshpere is really cool. The entertainment is great. The food? Yuck. Eating here is like going to a theme park. You know you'll have lots of fun but the food leaves something to be desired.

Nice atmosphere for family, but food is below par. Has potential to be much better with the atmosphere that's already present. I wonder if the restaurant has read these ratings?

they really need to do something about the food there, its seems more like a family place now than what it used to be. Great environment though.

I'll give it 2 stars because they really put some effort into the place. Unfortunately, as others have rightly pointed out, they don't put any effort in the food - it's a disgrace. Ok for a family night out but I'd advise you to eat elsewhere first and just have some Margaritas while the kids run around.

If you have small kids, this place is a must visit. Think of a Walt Disney type "Mexican" food place, on a limited budget. Food can challenge Taco Bell for quality, might be pressed if compared to Taco John's. If you are bringing youngsters, suggest the adults eat before you go. If you aren't going to bring kids, go some place else.
