Their weekday lunch buffet is pretty good as far as buffets go.
For under $6, there are 15 to 20 different items including cold
and hot appetizers, soups, fruit, and a nice mix of entrees.

Everyone who works here smiles a lot. Curious. I don't much care
for veggies that are all cut into small, uniform cubes (like frozen
mized vegs) and prefer firm, not silken tofu. Tried this place
a couple of times, it never quite hit the spot. Others rave about
the meat entrees, so maybe they just don't know how to cater to
vegetarians.

Excellent, unique, dishes. They also have a lunch buffet
(Mon-Fri) and dim-sum on the weekends.

Kevin and Stephanie started a tradition with a outstanding menu from
Shanghai. They sold the restaurant to Frank and Ying the current
owners continue with the tradition. Kevin and Stephanie went back to
Shanghai for a year before opening the second Golden Plate on 7180 E
Hampden.
Both restaurants are excellent and they are not your typical Chinese.

If you are a fan of Chinese-American food, this isn't
necessarily the restaurant for you! You won't recognize the
best things on the menu. The Golden Plate offers true
Chinese cuisine, in a comfortable setting with superb
service. I have never been a fan of Chinese food until I
ate at this family-run establishment. Try to order from the
back of the menu....The entrees you usually find at most
Chinese-American restaurants are toward the front. Yes, the
sesame pockets are wonderful and the garlic beans are a
cosmic experience.

The wonton soup and eggrolls were horrible. A dish
called sesame pockets were good. And the sesame
chicken and black pepper beef were tasty.
The waiter was incredibly polite; he must have said
'Excuse me, sorry, thank you' a zillion times.
Overall, I might give it another try, but I think
I'll skip the appetizers and try some new entrees.

Really good! Finally a restaurant that doesn't
rely on the American standard of Chinese restaurants.
The menu is greatly varied, and everything is delicious.

All Golden Restaurants might be Chinese, but few could be as good as
this. By the way this restaurant has moved to East Hampton East of
1-25 They needed more space!
