Bertha's does a mean brunch. Of course, this cozy, yet surprisingly
large Fells Point joint is famous for its mussels. They've
been featured on the Food Network and if you haven't seen
an "Eat Bertha's Mussels" bumper sticker around
town -- well, you haven't been paying attention. But the
Sunday late-morning, early afternoon brunch is justifiably
known as one of the best in town. Some call it the best. It's
hard to argue, what with the spread Bertha's lays out.

The classic breakfast dish eggs Benedict gets a twist with extra
savory Canadian bacon. When is the last time you had Welsh rarebit?
Bertha's serves that up on Sundays with country sausage.
An eggs rarebit version is available, too. The creamed chipped
oysters are a fancier version of the standard-issue creamed
chipped beef on toast, and there's an interesting array
of omelets (cheese, mushroom, salami and Western). Order two
and get a discount.
