I eat her often, mainly because they are open at 2:30 AM. The food is good sometimes, and average at best others. However, i still eat here. if you are hungry at 2 am and in Baltimore, it is worth the trip. Bookmaker is a staple and very good, although has gotten smaller over time. I like that you can do half orders.

A true staple of Baltimore's Little Italy, Sabatino's
has been around for as long as you can remember. It's the kind
of place everyone has heard of and tried and -- judging by returning
guests -- if you try it once you'll most likely decide to make
it a major part of your Baltimore dining experience.

"Sab's, " as it's fondly nicknamed by locals
and employees, is a comfortable place where the whole family
can enjoy an Italian-style experience; it's also a haven
for those craving a late-night snack or fine, full course meal.
Sabatino's ambience has been created with distinctive
Italian elements that provide a cozy feel.

Owned by the same family since 1955, the gigantic menu focuses
on homemade pastas, and dishes that include seafood, veal, chicken
and beef. The Bookmaker Salad alone -- an amazing concoction
created with shrimp, salami, cheese, egg and Sabatino's
beloved house dressing -- ha ...

Sabatino's in Little Italy near downtown Inner Harbor is
a must stop for your Italian Quisine. They have a variety of entrees
to please your palate. Their "sabatino's salad dressing"
is definitely "to die for". Which by the way, can be
bought directly from the restaurant, or can be purchased at Giant
foodstores. Their waitresses excel in friendliness, knowing
the contents of their entrees, and excel in their service to their
patrons.

The environment is a bit crowded, but still nice, a fun place to
visit. The service is helpful and very friendly. I especially
recommend the Eggplant Parmesan.

Sab's is a little Italy and Baltimore staple. I have not ever
run into anyone who has not been to or did not like it there. The
atmosphere is fairly old-fashioned and the somewhat cramped.
If you do not like being close to people, do not go there! Get past
this though, and it is quite an enjoyable experience.
The waitresses are mostly older women who have been there for
a long time. Their antics (if you get the right one) are quite amuzing.
They definately add to the atmosphere. The food is traditional
italian served in large portions. Salads are large as well. The
house dressing is very thick (probably very fattening), but
very good. It used to be better before they began bottling it for
sale in supermarkets, but still remains worth a try. The italian
egg drop soup is amazing, but be careful, it WILL fill you up quickly!
Pasta is always cooked to the less-done side of al dente. Seafood
is fresh and enjoyable. Not a great place to impress, but a gre ...

Sabatino's has long fallen under the spell of Inner Harbor tourism.
The service is excellent, servers warm and friendly, but the
food is ersatz Italian and seems to please the tourist crowd during
that season and native late nighters at all times, given its round
the clock (for the most part) hours. It can get crowded particulary
after bar closings. Booths have contiguos seating, so you might
find your neighbor's elbow (with whom you did not arrive) in your
pasta. The finest restaurant in that area is Boccaccio's. But
for authentic Italian cuisine, try Cafe Troia in Towson. At least
it was so on my last visit, nearly one year ago.
