Though this isn't fine dining, this is a favorite of alum from Cal. Even my uncles who graduated in the 70s recall fond memories of Top Dog. A true CAL institution. Worth a visit just because of that. I don't usually indulge in hot dogs/sausages. But once in a while, you just have to have a good Polish sausage.

If you're about to go home drunk from the bars, yes you UC berkeley students, you must stop by top dog, the best hot dogs in the greater bay area. no this is true. I like the hot links, its a louisana style sausage, that has a kick but its great. potato salad is amazing too! open late, real late!!!

The price depends on how mant hot dogs one can eat!!! The hot dogs here are very good and so is the chef whom remembers your order to the letter. They also have hamburgers and other foods, but I go here for the dogs. They have any kind of dog you want, you can get mustard, and saurkraut and raw or grilled onions. A cheese dog, a chili dog. The options are really quite endless. It can seem quite a bit pricey, especially since Bongo Burger offers such huge portions. But a good dog is a good dog and that it is....

Best hot dogs and sausages you can get. This place always seems to be open and if you go a few times the chef even remembers what you like and how you like it almost before you walk inside. Great service and food make this place a great place to eat any time of the day.

Best grilled dogs in town. Reasonably priced with fast service from a one person show. The person takes, cooks, serves and takes the $$ for all the orders. I'm still impressed on how they remember who ordered what. Good late nighter if you want something fast and cheap.
