We are big time fans of Plano Covino's and we extremely excited
to see that a 2nd was being opened up, closer to where we lived. But, our
antipation of its opening and the yummy food and great service that
we have received over the years was definately a waste of energy. The
staff was unfriendly, the bartender had no idea what the heck she was
doing, the piano bar (is that what you call it?) was horrible. The two
nights that we were there, the music coming from the piano bar was 70's
light rock (for an italian eatery???). When we complained about the
music being too loud, we were ignored. Needless to say, we are VERY disapointed
in this newest cousin to Covino's and honestly, we were so insulted
by our treatment, we are considering finding another italian favorite.
They need to get new management in this facility fast to bring us back.
And because that's unlikely, we won't be back.

What a wonderful little italian place. weve been here several
times and its always packed as the food is just great. Really good
homemade pizza here also. if theres a wait, just have some wine
and talk with friends outside. a truly great family establishment
that takes pride in serving quality homemade food.

for a wait in nice weather...

Grade A food all the way. I have been going there for 5 years now,
almost twice a month. Joe made the best thing in Plano yet. Not
even a 5 star restraunt could hold a candle to his food. One hint
for ya'll, ask for the salad pizzas. It isn't on there anymore
but it is the best thing there, along with his wife's chocolate
chocolate chip cheesecake. Remember its BYOB so add a spark to
the evening.

Excellent family style Italian cooking. Small restaraunt so
you may have to wait. Its BYOB so don't forget your favorite beverage.

Reading the reviews, I had to go check out this place.
Dinner prices ranged from about $7-$15. We had the
Fettucine Alfredo and a Stromboli. The Stromboli seemed
a bit cool in temperature. The outer texture was very good
not too crunchy and not too chewy. The Alfredo was ok at best.
Maybe we caught them on an off-night? Anyway, we did try
the cheesecake and it was very good. A must! The service
was ok.
Viewing some of the other platters around us, I do want to
go back and try the pizza and the Chicken Parmigian. The
place does get full pretty quick. Also, BYOB.

Dallas paper review said "the best kept secret in Plano". Not anymore. Looooong
wait on weekend evenings; best pizza we have found in Texas (a qualified statement,
granted). Joe Covino loves his work and his wife makes the best cheesecake
I have had, anywhere. PS don't bother trying to get the recipie from her, she's
not telling.

Great place to have dinner with friends. Spend an hour outside drinking wine and shooting the bull. Take your wine inside and have a great meal in a friendly atmosphere. Make sure and give the owner a hard time. Oh, the tables are small, so if you want great seating, etc. this is not the place to go.

Great quaint pizzeria and Italian food! Always a wait for this
small restaurant. The chicken wings are great--not breaded and
just the right amount of vinegar mixed in the sauce! You can
always get your food to go--which is quicker most times than
waiting for a table. BYOB-you bring wine and they will cork it
for you(fee applies). Great thin pizza with the perfect
combination of spice, cheese and grease!
Got my vote all the way!!!!!

Fantastico!
It's hidden in the corner by the John Deere Lawnmower shop.
Usually a wait for a table.
If it's cold there are space heaters outside.
Bring your own bottle of wine.
There is a booze shop right across the street if you forgot.
Joey Covino gets my highest Chief rating for the far north Plano region.
If you find yourself and bellizima trapped in the far north, go Covino's.
Fantastico.
