this has been pne of the best restaurants i tried, ever!
their lao dishes are just incredible! one of a kind.
i love it so much I go there one out of two times i go
to a restaurant.
their red snapper cooked in a coconut shell is excuisite.
everybody I had try it has just been impressed with the
excuisite taste. spicy in a good way is the best description.
you can ask for mild also.
their stuffed seabass is also to die for.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants an
incredible (yet not too pricy) dinning experience.
I feel lucky to live in Berkeley just to be able to go
there often.
Their chef is a treasure.
Their decor is very traditional too. I feel like I am
travelling to a new country every time I walk up the
steps to enter that restaurant.
Dara is easily the best restaurant of its kind for me.

I like Dara better than its next door neighbor, Cha-Am. The rad-nar
and Pad Thai are great! I have never had a chance to eat outside,
but it looks very cute.

i went here for the first time. i didn't expect too much, because
the outside didn't look as enticing as its close neighbor cha-am
(stiff competition). the food was pretty good, but i found a hair
in one of my dish. that's why it didn't get 4 stars from me.

i went to dara a long time 'go, but i recently returned. they have
really yummy thai ice coffee. then again, i haven't tasted thai
ice coffee in a long time, so i might be biased, just glad to taste
it 'gain. rad nar is this chow fun-ish noodle. we had it w/ beef.
it was good. the #2 salad w/ chicken was pretty good. the ground
chicken had tons'a flavour. the "stuff eggplant" w/ shrimp was
really good 2. u can choose beef, pork, chicken, or shrimp. the
shrimp was actually a ground shrimp paste cake placed in between
2 lengthwise slices of asian eggplant. yes, yummy. the sauce
was really good.
u know, be warned tho'. both my gf n' i found hair in the ground chicken
salad. that's somethin' to complain 'bout, wouldn'tchu say?
it's a pretty nice restaurant tho'. not 2 fancy, but nice 'nuff
4 a casual dinner w/ family/friends or a very casual date. altho'
the hostess moved us 1nce b4 we ordered, to accomodate a larger
group coming in, the service was re ...

One of the few bay area Thai restaurants that we have
found that offers sticky rice and other Laotian
influenced dishes. The "prawns on pineapple shell" is
fantastic as well as the teriyaki eggplant and the
fresh rolls appetizer. Service is friendly and prompt.
