If the food were as appealing as the ambiance then I could understand
the ridiculous prices. I had the Mole Poblano. The sauce was not well
balanced, one piece of my chicken was pink in the middle, and the rice
was undercooked. The green salsa with chips you get when you sit down
was the best thing about my meal, but definitely not worth the 18.95
I paid for it. The drinks are also overpriced. This place seems like
its purpose is less of a Mexican "gourmet" restaurant and
more of just another place to go see and be seen in Dallas. Not worth the
hype at all. You would be better off taking the ten minute detour and
diverting to Ojeda's off Maple if you are looking for great Mexican
food.

Take what others say with a grain of salt, you have to experience this
place for yourself. Everytime we go there the food is outstanding,
service impecable, and the ambiance out of this world. I am confident
in saying this is a top ten Dallas dining establishment. Please check
it out. NOT OVERPRICED!!

Hmmm....honestly...I've had better mexican before. Never heard
of any mexican food being "gourmet"...but ok. Another
commercial wanna-be. Go look for a small out of the way mexican place
for some real gourmet.

Maybe we are the ONLY people in Dallas who feel this way, but we honestly
thought Javier's was overrated, and we were disappointed by the
service and the food. We had a gift certificate; maybe that is why we
weren't treated promptly or graciously, not sure what went wrong
with our experience there.

This is absolutely the best kept secret in Dallas. Once you've
been there, you'll hold Javier's in high regard forever.
Much less pretentious than some of the other big name steakhouses
in Dallas. So what if the owner drives a Ferrari! He's there
every night making sure you're treated like you drive a Ferrari(whether
you do or not). Order the Filete Cantinflas. You'll be glad
you did! Enjoy!

I would say that this is one of the top restaurants in Dallas. The
food quality is excellent. Service is sometimes slow, and at
other times the waiter is standing at your table all night. There
is often a wait, and reservations are a must for the Thur. - Sun.
meals. Don't plan to eat here for a holliday meal unless planned
and reserved well in advance. The owner personally oversees
the operation, and if you have an issue or problem, it is fixed
immediately. While the owner's Ferrari parked out front
might be a sign that you will be paying more than a meal at Taco Bell,
I can promise you that the house specialty dishes are worth the
trip, wait, and money. Enjoy.
