Not the charm of the old Herrera's shack across the street, and the larger size (and another location nearby) means the lines don't strech around the block like they used to at the shack. But pound for pound, when I want hard core TexMex, I go to Herrera's. Many would kill for the recipie for their nuclear salsa. The Pepe's special is my favorite combination plate in the universe. No glitz, no glamour. An absolute insult to establishments like Javier's and Via Real, but if Herrera's moved to Cuba, I'd have to seriously consider becoming a communist!
