The best of the best. As a resident of Worcester's "Restaurant
Row", Shrewsbury Street, I have had the opportunity to eat in
each of it's many restaurants. Porto Bello, is by far, the best
of the street. They've been here a little more than 10 years and
serve some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The wine list
is spectacular too. Scott has a knack for choosing the right wine for
every course. The Chicken Sorrentina is what I would describe as a lighter
Chicken Parmegiana, made with fresh, lightly hand breaded, sauteed
chicken breast, topped with fresh buffalo mozzarella and smothered
in CarolAnn's delicious and light Tomato Basil sauce and served
over penne pasta. She also makes a killer Ricotta Cake and Grapenut
Custard. All of their sauces are homemade...nothing canned or frozen
like some others use. And I have just one thing to say about Mike and Scott's
Mascarpone Chicken. Better than sex! With tender strips of sauteed
chicken on penne pasta, the sauce is a blend of mascarpone cheese, their
famous light cream sauce and just the right hint of red pepper sauce.
It is like heaven on a plate. Porto Bello is my pick for anyone who is looking
to visit Shrewsbury Street. Tell Scott, Mike and CarolAnn that their
#1 fan sent you!
