Being from Louisiana, I take the opportunity to try any and all restaurants
professing to be "Cajun". Most outside of Louisiana don't
quiet make it. They try but no cigar.
When this restaurant opened in Omaha, I said, OK, here we go again. Another
one that puts alot of spice on something and call it "cajun".
The menu listed alot of items that looked cajun but only tasting would
tell. The first item I tried was the red beans and rice with a side cup
of gumbo. Surprise, surprise, suprise! I was "Cajun".
It was spiced just right and not too spicy to where you couldn't
taste the flavor of what you were supposed to be eating. I have been back
two more times. The crawfish etouffee is really good even with Chinese
crawfish (you can tell this if you are from Louisiana) and the seafood
platte is great also. The bread pudding is ok, not as good as mine, but
good.
This is a chain restaurant with other sites in the Kansas City area.
If you're in Omaha or in the Kansas City area and like Cajun food,
stop in and try it.
