What an enjoyable dining experience, the food was superb! I came in
with my husband and we loved the professional yet joyous attitude of
service! Our server was not only very friendly but very attentive as
well. The Restaurant was professional enough for a business dinner
and friendly enough for a family occasion. Silver Oak is a small intimate
space where laughter, warmth and cheer fill the air The menu offered so many intriguing items that we decided to get several
dishes and share. We decided to start off with their Cajun Escargots
E’touffe, it was just a melt-in-your-mouth delight. We were taken
aback by that unbelievable spicy zing the Escargots had after our initial
bite. We then ordered the Rich Man, Poor Man and the Lamb Four Ways, as
our main course. My husband and I were both in awe when the dishes were
served. The presentation was not only fantastic but very creative!
The food looked just as good as it tasted! The Lamb had a wonderful blend
of flavors and the goat cheese bread pudding was just the right touch
to compliment the taste of the lamb.
The Rich Man, Poor Man’s grilled monkfish and lobster were cooked to
perfection and were a palate-pleasing delight! Finally we finished
our meal with the Granny Smith Apple Pie. The whole pie was made from
scratch and was topped with homemade ice cream, let me just say that
it was to die for! I was so impressed with each and every dish that I immediately
called all my friends and neighbors and just raved about this great
new addition to Ridgewood. Silver Oak American Bistro has a very fresh and exciting aura about
it! It is unlike any other restaurant I have been to in Ridgewood and
has something unique to offer in every dish on the menu and has a commitment
to fresh, seasonal ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!!
Absolutely recommended, and will most definitely return!

In a town full of restaurants, this newcomer stands out. I have been
to Silver Oak five times. My first visit was with two friends. They have
both gone back with other friends; word-of-mouth has made other friends
insist that we return with them, too. To eat at the Silver Oak is to experience
a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with fabulous food. From the
beginning to the end, the dishes are delectable. Soups - a wonderful
blend of vegetables, meats and spices, sometimes spicy, always smooth.
Appetizers - the Crabby Chicken and the stuffed chicken wing are outstanding.
Entrees - there is something for everyone. One friend will not order
anything except "Rich Man, Poor Man, " a combination of
lobster and monkfish. I have tried chicken, steak and fish, and loved
them all. Their lunches are especially nice - there is a price fixed
option that includes an appetizer, soup or salad and the main dish (sandwich,
salad or entree). I am not a fan of macroni and cheese, but will be ordering
it the next time I visit at lunch - my friend's serving was that good.
The bbq sandwich was also a winner. As one person said after her first
bite, "It's like a party in my mouth!"
