I guess you?d call this "NY Style". I hate labels, so I?ll just
call it what it is...thin, light crust...with a crisp bottom
and a slight "chew". The crust itself had little to no flavor,
which isn?t a bad thing. It virtually melts in your mouth, and
leaves all the taste at the mercy of the cheese and sauce. The sauce
itself is a fairly spice-less. But you can catch a hint of garlic.

So few places offer sit-down served pizza, but Carmine's does
and does it well. You go to the counter to order and you have a choice
of pizza-by-the-slice, whole pizzas, and other Italian entrees.
We often order an extra large with three toppings (about $15)
and it arrives on a crisp, light crust with high-quality toppings
and a delicious sauce. Sometimes I order the ravioli which is
baked in cheese and sauce and served with salad and bread.
The atmosphere is cheap seating and the smokers invade the whole
place. Also the TV is either on sports or financial news which
can be tiresome, but the staff is friendly and the pizza is some
of the best in the city.

Best pizza in Dallas. No question. Closest thing
to New York pizza west of the Mississippi!
