I found Lucas by accident one night while looking for something different. I was attracted to the somewhat differently unique appearance of the front of the restaurant in a regular looking strip mall. The food was amazing, very flavorful, large portions and very artistically prepared. I thought I was eating in a five star restaurant. In fact, looking at it from the outside in the strip mall it is located in, you would NEVER expect what you walk into. The place is decorated in all authentic Italian decor from an Island that the owner was born and raised at. I was educated to some history after meeting Chef Andrea the other day when eating there and asking about the place. Apparently his Island Ischia, at one time Greek occupied, is a very quaint place very rich in history, talented artists and delicious food. Chef Andrea has brought most of the great recipes from his family which still occupies the Island. The smell of the food and fresh bread baked on the premises will only entice you ... more

We diversely order and all try a little. Lucas is indefinitely one of my new favorite places to dine and bring friends. All the portions, starting with the appetizers were more than accommodating and the servers were very attentive to bring more bread or fill your glass. Great atmosphere, nice music, pleasant people and most of all---- delicious food reasonably priced............ What more could you ask for........... ONE MORE THING.......The Star Ledger Review is DEFIANTLY MISSING A FEW STARS.........Believe me, YOU DON"T want to miss going to Lucas for a great meal. less
