The Hip Pocket Deli is open Monday-Saturday 10am-2pm. I live less than a mile away and eat there often. It's really delicious! I've had the Grouper Basket on Friday's, and the following subs: -Philly Cheesesteak (Tons of peppers, onions, steak. Unfortunately the steak is tough.) -All American Club (Make sure to specify All American! Delicious sub with tons of meat.) -Italian Sub (Again, tons of meat, lettuce, cheese. Wonderful!) The subs are so big that I half them with my husband and we both are stuffed! Their only downfall is that they went up in price to $14 each. That gets expensive when you do that a couple times a week!

This is THE best restaurant in Pensacola. It is small, not open often but it has the best tasting food and nicest owner/operator of any dining place in the area. The potions are very large but more importantly, the food is delicious. All of it. Order anything on the menu and you will be plaesantly surprised.

You will never eat another hamburger. Try the Whimpy burger on Thursdays, the chocolate cake, oh my is awesome, we order it at work and we all jump in! We have never gotten anything that didn't meet the expectations. Servings are plentiful!

I just arrived in Pensacola the evening before and decided to try this place out since here at Dine.com it was the Highest Rated place in Pensacola.

I'll agree with the other folks as Chris is very energetic, and don't make him call your name more than once to come get your food when it's ready or YOU'LL KNOW YOUR FOOD IS READY real quick.

I didn't even ask to look at a menu, and just told him to give me the best thing he has. He made me the Lamb Meat Gyro, which was really great.

We ended up with 2 Gyros, 2 bags of Lays potato chips, and 2 Drinks for about $14.75.

I have to tell you, on the way home from having lunch at this place, my feet got a little cold. But then I realized that it was because my socks had been completely rocked off.

As stated before, the owner is especially energetic and helpful, the atmosphere is great, and the food is even better.

That Gyro has this crazy in your face garlic-y sauce that never goes away, and you never stop craving. MM. This place is the best, Chris always gives you something to smile about, and you can go there in your flight suit! TAKE THAT CNATRA!

This place is amazing! I have eaten at The Hip Pocket Deli twice, and I am going there for lunch today. The food it top notch and the service is impeccable! I highly recommend this place. I guarantee you will love it!

This is probably my favorite sandwhich shop in the world, litterally. Chris (the owner) is friendly and energetic. He makes fantastic gyros, calzones, philly cheesesteaks, and BLTs, to name a few. Some of his specialities are a 3lb burger (the Wimpy Burger), a 3lb meatball sub (special meatball recipe), and desserts. He makes a chocolate cake that is phenomenal, and the same goes for his carrot cake. They each stand (or lay on the side, as the case usually is) about 8" tall, and 2-3" thick per slice. It's enough for several desserts. Chris also makes speciality baklava; last week he had butterscotch pecan, and this week Heathbar Almond. You'll never want "regular" baklava again, or if you do, it just won't match up. I'll drive easily two hours out of my way (that is to say, an hour there and an hour back) just to swing in for a sandwich, especially as I'm only able to visit once a year or so.

OK, I admit, I've never actually been there. Why should I when they have such a wonderful, fast delivery service for lunch? My favorite is the Wimpy Burger. Guaranteed leftovers (for me anyway.) You also cant't go wrong with the Grouper Basket.

Every item on the menu is over portioned. Everything is made from scratch daily, not bought from a grocery store or already prepared. Every sandwhich I've had is delicious and filling. The Gyros are exceptionally good. You won't be disappointed. Waaay better than fast food.
