This has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years. The atmosphere is lovely .. the restaurant is an 1840's mansion .. and the service every time I've been has been attentive. My favorite tapa of all time is the garlic potato salad .. I do believe I want to take a vat of this wonderful stuff with me into the next life! The list of tapas, both hot and cold, is extensive. It's fun to try different things, and share them, every time we go. The black bean soup is a yummy starter, and if you would rather have a family meal, you can't go wrong with one of the paella choices. Please don't forget to leave room for flan or the carmelized golden delicious apples served with vanilla ice cream (please leave your diet at home when you dine here). The wine list is extensive and includes a wonderful fruit-filled sangria that they make themselves. Oh, and for the ultimate in charm, plan a wedding or special event under a tent on the beautiful front lawn. The upstairs o ... more

I love this tapas restaurant. I've been to several in the Chicagoland area, and this one tops the list! The food is always coming straight out from the kitchen hot, and always Yummy! My favorite dish (of course)is the dates wrapped in bacon baked with the roasted red pepper sauce, I can eat two whole orders of them. I recommend this restaurant for anyone who likes a calm atmosphere and just an overall wonderful ambiance.

Looking at these other reviews sums it up. Some of the food is great some not so much, but it is Tapas so eat what you like. If you're not into experimenting maybe try someplace else otherwise it's worth at least one trip so you can decide for yourself.

Even tho we have been to this restaurant several times and also hosted a bridal shower here don't know the average entree price as other than the shower we love doing tapas. For the shower we had the buffet and it was awesome. Many, many choices for everyone to eat and they could have their fill. Everytime we eat at Meson we order several of the tapas until we are filled. We love this place. Great sangria by the glass or pitcher. Very relaxing atmosphere. The staff never rushes you.

If you like Tapas this might be a nice place. I had never had it before, and don't think I'll go back. Not a reflection of the food or service which was both good, but more of my own taste in how I want to eat.

Nice atmosphere, but very uneven service. "Our" waiter introduced himself and then never reappeared, so I had to commandeer another, who did a fairly good job. The food that we ordered anyway ranged from mediocre to awful. The chorizo was so-so, but the pasta was nowhere near al dente - just a soft, mushy mess. We were not even close to full but having ordered 3 disappointing items in a row opted to cut our losses and leave.

Great tapas! The waitstaff was very attentive, and the food was above average. Try several different things. Wonderful old home made into a restaurant...beautiful garden paths that make you feel like you've jumped back 100 years

My husband and I enjoyed their Sunday brunch. The food was incredible! The variety of seafood dishes was impressive, as was the quality of their ingredients. Non-seafood dishes were exceptional as well. The service was satisfactory and the decor is charming. It was a relaxing, decadent way to spend a lazy Sunday morning. Meson Sabika paints a lovely picture of life in Spain.
