Still good but stay away from the fried chicken livers unless you enjoy eating your shoes, ,, you have to ask they be served properly & not overcooked.

I bet everyone who eat at this restaurant never double check your bill. There is 20% tip automatically added to our bill, which we didn't really notice because we were paying for the lunch, 4 adults plus 2 children 8 and 9 years old. We all had their wonderful fried chicken! guess how much our bill, $62.36. we totally paid 40% tip, when we realized, we went back ask them to correct the error. The manager agreed and went back to redo our bill. we thought everything is OK. guess what our AE card never got credit back. So everyone, double check your bill, don't get charge 40% tips, I like their food but I am not crazy to give them 40% tip. with what they did, I can find some better honest restaurants in Augusta than cafe 209.

A very good place to eat. It's like eating at Grandma's house. Some of the best food you will ever eat. It is impossible to eat all the food that they bring you

I work in an office downtown and we order out from Cafe 209 1-2 times a week! We love the food, and when dining in, the service is great! Everyone is super friendly, and I've never had to wait! Try it! You'll love it; if you like Southern home cookin. Taste the collard greens, fried chicken, field peas, (any of the veggies)... it's just like being home.

This is what home cookin' is supposed to taste like! The staff is very courteous and the service is outstanding! I have never waited more than 10 minutes (even during the lunch time rush) for my meal and if I had to wait, believe me, it was well worth it!

hae been here twice for lunch, ,, the 2nd time, we didn't have to wait for a table which, according to the regulars, is unusual, ,, normally, i shy away from ' home cookin'' as if i wanted that, i'd stay home, right ?, ,, but 209's different, ,, they have some salads, soups & sandwiches, ,, but their forte's the plate lunches & daily specials of the same, ,, you see everyone he-ah, ,, students, businessmen, nurses, the church lunchladies' groups, factory workers, telephone guys, local judges - they all show up again 'n' again, ,, what's notable to me is this is the 1st place i've found where they know how to cook chicken livers so they remain tender & don't taste like your wife's shoe, ,, they also do some catering from here, ,, only open, currently, on 1st friday which is a local thing designed to get pedestrian traffic back downtown for 1 nite a month at least, ,, seems fairly successful, too, ,, so hit this place then - probably see you there
