We stopped here for Happy Hour having had an enormous lunch at Casa Rio
earlier. Waxy's has a little patio area near the water and a bar
and dining area indoors, with a little space set aside for live music
(marginal quality, but after enough Guinness anyone sounds good).
Potato and leek soup was very good, but the stuffed potato skins looked
like they had been around for a while. Our cute little waitress had to
ask what a "Black and Tan" was, though, which is sacreligious
for an Irish pub. Happy hour for eight (two non-drinking airmen included)
was $50, not terribly exorbitant considering Waxy's serves a
true pint, not one of those cheater glasses I have seen in other places.
Good stuff, Waxy!
