The food are not as great as the hype it received from people I know.
There's better barbeque places that I would rather eat at
namely Gates and KC Masterpiece. It's the cloeset BBQ place
where I live, but closest doesn't make it best tasting BBQ.

I was not impressed. There are several great BBQ establishments
in Kansas City. This is not one of them. Food does not have the kick
as Fiorella's Jack Stack of Masterpiece. Check out Fiorellas
if you want great BBQ.

I have heard a lot about Famous Dave's but had never got to
try one. A new Famous Dave's just opened up next to the NASCAR
track in KCK. I just had to go try it. Well, if you want my advice,
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! No matter how hard they try, a company
from Minnesota, JUST DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BARBECUE!!!
I still can't believe they have over 70 stores selling this
stuff. Really proves there is a lot of folks out there that don't
have a clue about what good barbecue is!!!!!! You will be better
off if you get something from the store and cook it yourself on
the Weber. The sauces are the only thing going for this place.
That is why it even got a 2 score from me. The beef sandwich I tried
was just that. A BEEF SANDWICH!!! I don't think the beef had
ever seen a smoker. There was NO SMOKE FLAVOR or SMOKE RING. It
was tender but IT WASN'T BRISKET and it had an UNUSUAL TASTE
that I still have not placed. IT DIDN'T TASTE ANYTHING LIKE
BARBECUE! The RIBS were as TUFF AS SHOE LEATHER! I think they were
smoked but maybe only for 10 minutes. I was sure glad that I still
have a good set of teeth. You older folks may want to think about
bring an extra supply of POLY-GRIP!!! Now, after all this, if
you just got to go try it, only get a bottle of sauce. Then go somewhere
and get some REAL HICKORY SMOKED Kansas City BBQ!!!
